May 25, 2009 Congratulations to the 2009 Utah Youth Soccer Girls State Cup Champions
The Girls State Cup finals started on a beautiful spring day May 9, and ended this weekend with excitement and fantastic finishes. A variety of great goals, saves, defensive plays, player combinations, team unity, and fantastic matches were made and played in Orem at Lakeside Park this past Saturday May 23, 2009. The talent was impressive; there were historic firsts and intense competition.
Sportsmanship and support was evident. After some of the earlier matches were completed many players, parents, coaches, and fans stuck around to watch other matches. Some players played through injuries and showed their love for their friends, their teammates, their clubs, and most importantly their individual love for the game.
Infinity Soccer Club (Cache Valley) made their first ever appearance in a State Cup final in both the U-11 and U-12 age brackets. Congratulations to Black Diamond (Park City) and their U-18's for their first State Cup Champions.
State Cup Director, Bruce Cuppett along with UYSA President, Cindy Baron offered their congratulations to the champions as well as to all of the participants in the 2009 Utah State Cup. The Boys competed in State Cup in October 2008 and along with the Girls Finalist advance to the Far West Regional Championships. Below is a list of the Finalists.
