Utah Girls Stay Tough in Hot Competition
Three Girls Teams Advance to Semis
Girls U14 La Roca GA (UT) advances to the semis after beating NW Nationals from Washington. For a game recap [Click Here] Avalanche Premier (UT) U19 Girls beat BCSC Premier (ID) 4-1. They will meet Sereno White from Arizona in a semi-final match Saturday at 9:00 a.m. The U17 Avalanche Premier (UT) team came out on top against rivals Celtic Storm (UT) in a 2-1 win Friday. Avalanche will compete against the Eagles from Cal South at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.

Fair Play Award Given to Two Utah Teams
Girls U13 Celtic Storm and Boys U15 Arsenal were honored with Fair Play awards at Far West Regional Championships. The Fair Play Award is given to one team in each age group at the end of the preliminary matches. It represents honorable play and sportsmanship both on and off the field. UYSA is proud of the players, coaches, and parents of Celtic Storm and Arsenal and congratulates them on this award.
Celtic Storm is a girls team from Utah County coached by Scott Wells. They represent Utah as a wild-card team in the Girls U13 bracket. In the preliminary round Celtic Storm tied LV Premier from Nevada and Emerald City FC, the wild-card team from Washington. The score was 0-0 in both matches. They lost their third game against DAFC Spirit from Oregon 3-6. Congratulations Celtic Storm for your strong and honorable performance at Regionals.
Boys U15 Arsenal also represents Utah as a wild-card team. Jerry Preisendorf is the coach of this Utah County team. Coach Preisendorf was recently honored by UYSA as the June Coach of the Month. Arsenal is the 2nd place team in Flight B after the preliminary round and is playing in the quarterfinals today. Congratulations Arsenal on your great performance at Regionals both on and off the field.

Tough Comptition Eliminates Twelve Utah Teams at Far West Regional Championships
Seven Utah Teams Head to Quarterfinals on Friday
The preliminary rounds are over at the Far West Regional Championships. Each team representing Utah played three games in three days in the hot desert sun of Las Vegas. UYSA congratulates all the teams who competed and expresses appreciation to the players, parents, and coaches for a their efforts.
Seven Utah teams have advanced to Quarter-final matches beginning early on Friday morning. Good luck to our Utah teams:
At 7:00 a.m. the U12 Boys Inter FC Premier will play the wild card team from Washington, Crossfire Premier. Inter FC finished 2nd in C Flight with 1 win, 1 loss, and 1 tie. Crossfire Premier is the 1st place team in A Flight with 2 wins and 1 tie.
Another 7:00 a.m. match is schedule between U14 Girls La Roca GA and NW Nationals from Washington. La Roca finish their preliminary matches in 2nd place in D Flight. They beat Heat FC Orange from Nevada and Emerald City FC from Washington. Their loss came in a close 1-2 match against Pride Predators from Colorado. June 13, 2007 Utah Teams Ready to Compete at Far West Regional Championships
Nineteen Teams from Utah will be traveling to Las Vegas to compete at the Far West Regional Championships. The tournament begins on Monday, June 18. During the first three days, teams will play a match a day during the preliminary round. The top teams in each age group will then advance to single-elimination matches. Finals will be played on June 24th. The region champions will represent Region IV at US Youth Soccer National Championships to be held at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas, July 24-29, 2007.

From 10,000 to just over 900
2007 US Youth Soccer Regional Championships begin in Vegas on Monday
As US Youth Soccer State Championships come to a close, what were more than 10,000 teams in contention will soon be paired down to just over 900 at the seccond leg of the US Youth Soccer National Championships Series, the US Youth Soccer Regional Championships.
Each of these teams are seeking to be the final team standing in their respective region to represent at the US Youth Soccer National Championships where the final four teams will meet to determine the national champion. In all, 48 teams will travel to Frisco, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, to meet for the national finals, the final leg of the Series, this July 24-29.
Known for its history, elite level of competition and great play, US Youth Soccer, the nations largest youth sports organization, annually hosts the regional and national championships of youth soccer for boys and girls. More...
