Far West Regional Championships Can't spend a week in Idaho on a soccer vacation? You can still follow the progress of Utah's teams at this year's Far West Regional Championships. Click the logo at the top of this article for special coverage of the Far West Regionals. Teams from Utah will represent the state in the tournament held Aurora, Colorado during the week of June 18-25. During the first three days, teams will play a match a day during the preliminary round. The top teams in each age group will then advance to single-elimination matches.

June 26, 2006 Utah Gives Exceptional Performance at 2006 Far West Regional Championships U18G Avalanche Falls Just Short of Championship Crown Congratulations to all of the teams who represented Utah at the 2006 Far West Regional Championships. State Technical Director Greg Maas attended the tournament and said, "I am extremely proud of Utah's performance at this year's Far West Regionals. Utah set an unprecendented record of 12 teams advancing to the Quarterfinals, and fell just short of a Regional Championship with the U18 Avalanche team who succumbed 2-1 to Cal South in a heroic Battle. Utah has once again proven that we are a force in Region IV soccer, and now the challenge is for our coaches and players to raise our expectations even higher as we prepare for next year." More...

June 26, 2006 Region IV Punches Several Tickets to the 2006 US Youth Soccer National Championships Cal-South teams lead the charge to the national title FRISCO, Texas (June 26, 2006) – US Youth Soccer is proud to announce the 2006 US Youth Soccer Region IV (West) Champions and acknowledge their success in the state and regional championships of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, the country’s most prestigious national youth soccer tournament. June 24, 2006 Avalanche U18 Girls Advance to Finals at Far West Regional Championships Celtic Storm Streak Ends in Semi's Utah State Cup Champions Avalanche won their semi-final match today against Colorado Real National with a score of 2 goals to 1. Avalanche scored the first goal of the game at about the 5th minute with a goal by Eli Reed. The team then held off Colorado and ended the first half ahead by one goal. Colorado scored at about the 64th minute of play. Avalanche took the lead again at about the 77th minute with a goal by Sydne Porter. The championship game will be played at 9:30 a.m. against California South's San Diego Surf. Avalanche played Surf in the preliminary round and came out with a 2-0 win. Congratulations Avalanche and good luck in the finals! After scoring 11 goals and allowing only 1 goal against in four games, Celtic Storm hit a cold front and lost in the semi's against Colorado Rush Nike. The final score of the game was 3 goals for Colorado and zero goals for Storm. Celtic Storm has represented Utah six times at Regionals as the Utah State Champions since 2001. In 2002 made it to the Champsionship match and took 2nd place. Utah Youth Soccer is proud of Celtic Storms accomplishments and congratulate them on a great tournament.

June 22, 2006 Two Utah Teams Advance to Semifinals at Far West Regional Championships Celtic Storm Awarded Fair Play Award Semi-final matches were played today at the Far West Regional Championships in Boise, Idaho. Utah's Under 18 Girls Avalanche Black and Under 19 Girls Celtic Storm won their matches and will advance to the Semi-final round to be played on Saturday, June 24. More...

June 21, 2006 Utah Advances Twelve Teams to Quarterfinals at Far West Regional Championships The third day of preliminary matches were played today at Far Western Regionals.
