La Roca Premier AO 0 vs. Oregon Eastside Chelsea FC 1

La Roca went into their final game of pool play fully knowing that they needed a win to advance out of bracket. They looked like they were ready to deliver. La Roca totally controlled the tempo and possession from start to finish in the game while Oregon mounted an occasional counter attack. Oregon remained strong and well organized in the back and along with some good keeper play thwarted off every chance that La Roca delivered. Twenty five minutes into the second half, Oregon counter attacked and delivered a well placed cross to the back post that was headed home for the game winner. La Roca desperately pushed forward over the last fifteen minutes, hitting a rocket shot off of the back post, but Oregon was able to withstand a flurry of tries down the stretch.

End score 0-1. The good news...no injuries today!

La Roca Premier AO 1 vs. Washington Emerald City Futbol Club 2

For the second day in a row La Roca was hit an injury in the first 5 minutes of the game. Aubrey McFarland was carted off the field with a knee injury after a yellow card foul. Best wishes to Aubrey. The game continued to be physical until the final whistle. The first half saw La Roca with the majority of the possession, but they were unable to capitalize.

The second half La Roca jumped up with a goal in the first five minutes. Lexie Grilz got the assist off a service to Jaiden Thornock, who headed the ball home. The lead was short lived, with Emerald City evening the game on a hand-ball penalty kick in the tenth minute of the second half. The physical match continued, culminating in a forty yard run by Emerald City in the last minute of the game that ended in the winning goal.

End score 1-2.

La Roca AO 1 vs. Arizona Sereno 1

First half of the game saw Sereno controlling the tempo. Within the first five minutes Allie Aldridge went down with a knee injury, and was carted off the field for treatment. We wish Allie a speedy recovery. La Roca was able to mount a counter attack against the Sereno pressure, with Jaiden Thornock hitting one off the goal post. Sereno took advantage of the wind at their backs to score at the 30 minute mark off of an uncleared corner kick.

The second half was a turning point for La Roca. Bolstered by the wind, La Roca applied continual pressure creating many chances. Jaiden Thornock was unlucky again, finding the crossbar about midway through the half. La Roca evened up the score when McKel Wall knocked one home from the top of the box. Both teams got one more good look down the stretch, with goalkeeper Jamie Wilkinson coming up big on a breakaway, and McKel Wall forcing the Sereno keeper to parry her shot over the top of the goal.

End score 1-1.
