The USA U-11 Girls Premier Team, AKA USA Freedom, consists of talented 10 and 11 year old girls who are coached by Marla Nelson and assistant coach, Brent Burge. USA Freedom took time off from their competitive soccer schedule on Friday, 24 April 2009 to give back to the soccer community at the TOPSoccer Clinic that was hosted at the University of Utah U-Fit program. The team was broken into three groups where they assisted children of all ages to not only learn the basics soccer skills in a friendly and fun environment, but also to encourage each individual and help build their self-confidence. The USA Freedom girls did several fun activities with the children such as soccer bowling, taking shots into the goal after dribbling around cones and a game of Cadence as they formed a circle, not letting the ball touch the ground. Although young, USA Freedom Girls are wise beyond their years. These girls are great examples of playing smart on and off the field. Many thanks for their hard work and contribution in making the UYSA's TOPSoccer Clinic a success.

It not only helps those they are serving, but they learn not to take for granted their talents and abilities, and they learn how those talents and abilities can be used for good off the field. It also unites them as a team and helps them find confidence in themselves. They learn to accept others who may be of different circumstances than they are, but also know they can find common ground with them. I am proud of my girls for taking advantage of this opportunity.
